Keyboard shortcuts
Loach is keyboard-friendly. The shortcuts below work everywhere unless something modal is on top, like the lock screen or the onboarding wizard.
Global
- Ctrl + K — open the search palette. Cross-searches chats, Spaces and Snippets.
- Ctrl + F — find within the current chat transcript. Browser-style match highlighting.
- Esc — dismiss the active menu, dialog or panel. In the search palette it first clears a non-empty query, then closes.
In the composer
- Enter — send the message.
- Shift + Enter — insert a newline without sending. Use this for multi-paragraph prompts.
In the search palette
- ↑ / ↓ — move between results.
- Enter — open the highlighted result. A chat opens the conversation; a Space opens its detail view; a Snippet starts a fresh chat with the snippet’s prompt primed in the composer.
- Esc — clear the query, then close the palette on a second press.
Where shortcuts do not apply
The search palette and global shortcuts are suppressed while the app lock screen or the onboarding wizard owns the window — both are deliberate gates that cannot be bypassed by keyboard.
